“The Origin of Ainur”

In the time of the origin there was Iru , the One, who in Quyena the language of Elves is called Illΰvɨnar; and it was he that made the Ainur, the Holy Ones, they were the offspring of his thoughts, they were with him before all else was made. He spoke to them, teaching them themes of music; and they sang to him, and he was glad. The Ainur would sing together and the music was beyond reckoning, likened to the sounds of harps and lutes. Few of the Ainur would sing to Iru alone, feeling their music was to be heard by only him. Iru found all their songs beautiful.It came to pass that Iru gave the Ainur the Aἢor ‘the secret fire an imperishable flame’ and with but a whisper he made the fabled realm of Urth. With the Ainur’s imperishable flame they began to sing; and it was with their songs that life began. Each of the Ainur created life in their own likeness and gave them their gifts. The first songs of Ainur were beautiful and breathed the life of Elves, Fae, and gardens beyond imagining. Others sang of the beauty of animals and made the elements which filled the Urth for all to share. Iru sat and listened to their music, he found it good; and to him there were no flaws in their songs.As the songs progressed, into the hearts of a few of the Ainur interweaved matters of their own thoughts that were not in accord with Iru. Melϊkdόr was given the greatest of power and knowledge and he created beings of his own breath. Through him the kind of Orcs, Torϊen, Dark Elves were created; and they worshiped him alone. Iru saw this and rose with anger for Melϊkdόr and from him he took his Aἢor. He silenced all songs of the Ainur and thus began the first age of Urth.

Chapter One

"The Seven Kingdoms"

Three thousand years had passed since the first songs of the Ainur; and Urth was full of the life that was created by their songs. Kingdoms were formed on Urth, each of them had sovereignty on their own.
The first Kingdom was of the Elves and they lived in balance with all around them. Elves were tall, slender and beautiful and were guided by the stars; and their wisdom and knowledge was unmatched due to their long lives.
Fάε were smaller than their elf counterparts and were said to be mysterious and were keepers of the elements. Their kingdom was divided in two: one of the light and the other of the dark. The light brought life and spring upon the realm while the dark seen as tricksters and mystery brought the winters. Both were needed to see that life would continue to grow.
Deep in the forest and woods was the kingdom of the beastkin, the Torϊen. They lived in a large herd like pack. They looked like no other and their gifts from the Ainur gave them great sight, smell, and hearing. They were guardians of the forest and guarded it with a fervor like no other.
High in the mountains in fortresses of great rock and stone lived the Dwarves. They were the great miners and craftsmen of the mountains. Great wealth of both knowledge of and gold was made by their abilities to forge items for those of Urth. Though they were shorter than most they were a hardy folk made tough by the work they performed.
Upon the fiery mountain lived the Drᾅῦ. They are the children of Melϊkdόr made as a counter to Elves. Tall and strong figures with their skins as dark like the ash found in the volcano. They were cunning and self reliant and were always looking to expand their borders. Full of knowledge of the ancients like their Elvish brothers they were another of the ancient races.
Humans are the youngest race of all and new to the Urth. They often were seen as children by other races due to brash and sometimes crude ways of thinking. These Humans were different from the Humans we know. They were a race known as the Dudᾰinὲn they lived longer lives some living as long as three hundred years. These humans were early generations and were closer to the Aunir which made them.
